The event of Saturday, April 21 in the Church of the Sacro Cuore wanted by Caritas
A great young talent in music. Saturday, April 21 at 20.30 the parish church of the Sacred Heart of Mogliano Veneto will host a special event: an evening dedicated to classical music and solidarity: the piano recital by Elia Cecino, young but well-known talent. Cecino will play for the entire Mogliano community in a concert strongly desired by the Caritas Listening Center in Mogliano to raise awareness of the community towards the weakest and needy. Winner of numerous first prizes in national and international competitions, at only seventeen is already a pianist present on the international scene, with concerts to the credit in large concert halls, including the Carnegie Hall in New York.
⌈ How long have you been playing the piano? And why did you choose this instrument? ⌋
«I casually started at 9: my mother proposed this activity to me as well as many others. She was then my teacher who made me particularly passionate».
⌈ How do you reconcile study, school, piano and friendships? Now for example you are in Romania. ⌋
«I organize the school study in the hours that I cannot reserve for the piano and I concentrate it in the periods when I have less musical commitments. In the course of my study experiences I always know new peers from all over Italy and from various parts of the world with whom I stay in contact and that I meet periodically. Currently I mainly frequent friends in my area with whom I share joys and concerns similar to mine».
⌈ What did you feel when they invited you to play on this occasion? ⌋
«When I am invited to play I am always proud and grateful because my choice of study is valued, on this occasion especially since my art can make a concrete contribution to the less fortunate people».
⌈ What emotions do you feel when you play? And especially when you play in front of an audience of young guys like you? ⌋
«While I’m playing I try to interpret the emotions that the piece wants to express as well as the author would have liked to communicate them to the listeners. When I play for an audience of young people I am a bit more tense than normal because I know that the music I propose is not easy to make my peers understand».
⌈ How do you feel before a concert? What do you do? ⌋
«Before a concert I’m a bit excited as it is normal for those who have to propose in public, but I feel full of energy to share. I try to free my mind and concentrate in order to calm myself».
⌈ After an important performance, what’s left inside? ⌋
«I am happy and gratified by the content of the music I could interpret and by the warmth that the audience usually reserves me».
⌈ When you were in high school, did you ever expect to play big concerts? ⌋
«In eighth grade I was already playing in concert, I did not wonder what I would do after three years but in the unconscious I hoped that I could continue my activity as it is happening».
⌈ Playing for a charity concert and playing for a contest: are there different emotions? ⌋
«Playing for a concert or a competition is always different because in concert you can express with greater freedom your musical ideas and feelings since you are not subject to a school type evaluation. In the case of a charity concert there is the awareness of being in front of a particularly sensitive audience with whom to share the cause in the most intense way possible».
